The ruling Conservative and populist Progress Party reached an agreement with allies and the Labour opposition, giving them a broad parliamentary majority to tighten Norway's asylum policy and reduce asylum-seeker benefits to dissuade migrants from coming, the country's political parties agreed, amid a record number of asylum applications. In 2015, 29,000 people have sought asylum in the country of 5.2 million.
