Secretary of State John Kerry allegedly actively lobbied for an "accidental handshake" which took place between Pres. Obama and Foreign Min. Javad Zarif in the lobby of the United Nations before the Sept. 29 UN session. The handshake set off a firestorm of protest in Iran's parliament, in which conservatives condemned both Zarif and the American "enemy."
