Pro-Talon Republican Bloc and Progressive Union for Renewal parties together won 81 seats in the 109-member parliament with opposition Democrats gaining 28 seats, according to preliminary results on Wednesday.

#LIBYA: Vote Leaves Two Rival Governments

Libya’s east-based parliament has approved a new government despite the incumbent administration pledging not to cede power, pushing a fragile peace process to the brink of collapse and raising the risk of new conflict.

Prime Minister-designate Fathi Bashagha on Tuesday submitted his Cabinet to the east-based House of Representatives, where 92 of 101 legislators in attendance approved it, during a vote that was broadcast live from the city of Tobruk.

#RUSSIA: Opposition Communist Party Protests Duma Election's Use Of Online Voting

More than 1,000 Russian demonstrators, angered by the official tally from online voting during last week's parliamentary elections, defied warnings from authorities on September 25 to protest in central Moscow.

The protest was organized by several Russian politicians, most of them Communists, who said they were cheated of victory by an online voting system.

Calling for the online voting system to be scrapped, the protesters held up posters with slogans, such as "bring back the elections."

#BELARUS: Mass Protests After Disputed Election

Protests broke out across Belarus on Sunday evening after an exit poll predicted an overwhelming victory for authoritarian incumbent President Aleksander Lukashenko.

Independent Belsat television showed large crowds being attacked by police in Minsk, amid reports that a few local polling stations were saying that in their counts opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya was doing better than Lukashenko.

#BOLIVIA: Pres. Morales Resigns After Disputed Election

On the agenda was an electoral reform package and the recount of ballots in a disputed election in May, in which up fraud levels were said to be "very high," with election commission board member Riyad al-Badran claiming there were over 800,000 canceled cards in Baghdad representing 8 parliamentary seats. No more than 15 of the 165 deputies appeared for the session. Parliament's Speaker and other influential members were among those absent.
