Dominic Raab has angrily dismissed the findings of a bullying inquiry that has prompted him to resign as justice secretary and deputy prime minister.

The five-month probe, by a senior lawyer, was set up by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after complaints about Mr Raab's behaviour as a minister.

In a letter to Mr Sunak, Mr Raab said he would resign if the inquiry "made any finding of bullying whatsoever".

He said the inquiry "dismissed all but two of the claims levelled against me".

The U.K prime minister is set to step down from his role in eight weeks’ time, after a new Tory leader is elected in a ballot of party members ending September 5. Johnson’s anointed successor is likely to take over as Tory leader and U.K. prime minister the following day — Tuesday, September 6.

Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 committee of Tory backbenchers, which decides the leadership timetable, announced the terms on Monday night after the rules were rubber-stamped by the Conservative Party board.

Kazakhstan’s government resigned last Wednesday after protesters angry at a sharp rise in motor fuel prices took to the streets in several key cities, marking a big test for the country’s president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Kazakhstan’s president as well as international media are saying that Kazakh security forces have taken control of most of the city streets in Almaty, where days of riots have raged and central government buildings have been torched. Heavy military vehicles and armaments have also been seen deployed across other major cities. 

This after Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered his security forces to "shoot to kill without warning" - according to state media.

Berejiklian has been mentioned as a possible future Prime Minister of Australia.

New South Wales Deputy Premier John Barilaro reportedly followed his leader Monday by resigning from politics. He was a strong advocate for vaccine passports, a notion that has sparked riots in the country.

Barilaro's departure will trigger a by-election in Monaro, adding to the other two by-elections scheduled for Berejiklian’s seat in Willoughby and Constance’s seat in Bega.
