The government of Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has won a vote of confidence in Turkey's parliament. The confidence vote also granted approval of his legislative programs. A co-founder of the ruling Justice and Development Party, along with President Tayyip Erdogan, Yildirim is known as an "arch-friend" of the president. His appointment will also likely bring the nation one step closer to Erdogan's stated goal of adopting a presidential governing system.
