Iraq’s parliament speaker is calling on lawmakers to attend a session this week as part of an effort to normalize the political process. Speaker Salim al-Jabouri posted a statement to his official Facebook page on Sunday asking members of parliament to attend a scheduled May 10 session. Iraq has been facing political chaos, with Shia leader Muqtada al-Sadr instigating a mob to occupy parliament earlier this month.
