The Tasmanian state's Labor Party will consider a motion to ban the sale of cigarettes to thoe under 25 at its conference next month. Labor members living in the Kingborough municipality will seek support for its motion to raise the age that tobacco products may be sold to 25 and "to regulate the content and engineering of tobacco products – including filters and additives." Issues as diverse as puppy farming, housing, recycling, seat belts on buses, and a motion to allow members to elect the parliamentary leader are among the issues to be debated during the meeting, which will be held on Sept. 8 and 9.
