Members of the ruling Saenuri Party have proposed a ban on wearing masks or other identity-hiding apparel illegal during demonstrations. The proposal comes after a violent recent rally. The law would carry a prison term or fine of up to US$2,600. Opponents say the law would "gag" free expression.
