Video showing bailiffs and citizens using an earth-moving machine to try to break 
down a door of the monastery and serve an eviction notice on the rebel monks.

In the latest chapter in a long-running dispute with the Greek Gov't and Orthodox Church over tax-free status and the legitimacy of monks on Mt. Athos, Angry monks at the monastery refused to obey an eviction order, allegedly tossing Molotov Cocktails and rocks at bailiffs attempting to serve them on July 29, chasing them away. A spokesman for the monks said "We expect the police to give us a political solution with peace and tranquility, otherwise we will have events that will affect the image of Greece abroad."
