#UK: For The First Time, Upstart Brexit Party Takes Lead In General Election Polling

A general election poll for Opinium and the Observer newspaper has shown the Brexit Party in first place for the first time in voting intention for parliament (an election which has not yet been called.)

The poll, conducted from May 28 through May 30 indicated the new party preferred by 26% of voters. the Labour Party took second with 22%, followed by Conservatives and Liberal Democrats.

The Brexit Party clobbered the two main parties in the UK in last month's European Union parliamentary elections. Brexit Party: 26% (+2) Labour: 22% (-7) Conservatives: 17% (-5) LibDems: 16% (+5) Greens: 11% (+8) SNP: 4% (nc) Change UK: 1% (-2) Plaid Cymru: 1% (+1) UKIP: 1% (-1) (28th to 30th May)
