Former federal Conservative cabinet minister Jason Kenney is the new leader of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party. Kenney easily won the leadership on the first ballot in Calgary with more than 75 per cent of the vote. The former immigration minister ran on an agenda of merging his party with the Wildrose Party to form a united conservative front against the New Democrats in the next provincial election.
