#UK: Starmer Challenged Over Failure To Support Cease Fire in Hamas-Israel War

[world politics news]

Labour Party Leader Sir Keir Starmer has reiterated his support for a "humanitarian pause" to get help aid into Gaza.

Asked about calls from two Labour council leaders for him to resign as party leader for refusing to back a full ceasefire, Starmer said that was "not my focus."

"My focus is on alleviating the awful suffering of all of those that are caught up in the situation that has developed over the last few weeks," he said.

Like many left leaning parties throughout the world, Labour is balancing traditional support for Palestinians with accusations of an undercurrent of antisemitism that could cost them votes among Jewish and even Christian voters.

#UK: Labour Party Leader Says Some Women Have Penises

[world politics news]

UK Labour Party Leader Sir Keir Starmer has said some women, as many as one and every 1000 - have a penis this weekend, in an interview that is likely to cause friction within the Labour Party.

The Holborn and St Pancras MP has repeatedly found himself struggling to define what a woman is since taking over the role of Opposition Leader in 2020. Taking a definitive stand on the side of transsexual activists will likely invite withering criticism from conservatives, as both parties prepare to head into elections.

[world politics news]

Former Labour Party Leader and Prime Minister Tony Blair has urged current Labour Party Leader Sir Keir Starmer to reject “woke” politics and present a program for government that is “radical without being dangerous."

A report published by the Tony Blair Institute analyses the impact of class on voting in the 2019 general election and beyond. Based on analysis by the veteran pollster Peter Kellner, it points to particular problems for Labour with two groups: the 26% of voters who fit into the formal definition of middle class; and the 12% who would be defined as working class by pollsters but consider themselves middle class.

Labour Party Leader Starmer Polling Badly

A recent YouGov survey has found that more than half of the British electorate do not believe Labour Party Leader Sir Keir Starmer is currently up to the top job.

59% of voters, and 55% of Labour voters, feel Starmer is doing "badly," in the role.

And 61 percent believe Sir Keir does not look like he is PM in waiting, while just 18% think he is.

Twenty one percent of people were unsure.

It does, however, match internal party polling.
