#UK: Former PM Blair Urges Current Labour Party Leader To Drop "Woke" Politics

[world politics news]

Former Labour Party Leader and Prime Minister Tony Blair has urged current Labour Party Leader Sir Keir Starmer to reject “woke” politics and present a program for government that is “radical without being dangerous."

A report published by the Tony Blair Institute analyses the impact of class on voting in the 2019 general election and beyond. Prime Minister Theresa May has angrily lashed out at former Prime Minister Tony Blair's attempts to stop Brexit, speaking in a manner rarely seen from May. Blair, along with other pro-EU politicians, have made many comments, both in the UK and on the Continent, seeking to slow down and stop Brexit. May responded to Blair's latest statements by saying, “For Tony Blair to go to Brussels and seek to undermine our negotiations by advocating for a second referendum is an insult to the office he once held and the people he once served. We cannot, as he would, abdicate responsibility for this decision. Parliament has a democratic duty to deliver what the British people voted for."
