The main opposition Progressive National Party (PNP) has won a landslide victory in the Turks and Caicos general election.

Led by businessman Charles Washington Misick, brother of a former prime minister, the PNP obtained a 14 to 1 victory over the incumbent People’s Democratic Movement (PDM).
The opposition party won nine of the 10 electoral district seats and all five of the At Large seats.
Turks and Caicos is an archipelago of 40 low-lying coral islands in the Atlantic Ocean, a British Overseas Territory southeast of the Bahamas.
Election observers said the election was "free and fair" and reflected the "tranquility of society" on the islands.
