#PAKISTAN: Parliament Takes Up Two Bills Vetoed By Pres. Alvi

[world politics news]

After President Dr Arif Alvi vetoed proposals seeking revisions to the National Accountability (Amendment) Bill 2022 and Elections (Amendment) Bill 2022 the government is scheduled to bring them to the joint session of both chambers of parliament again.

The legislations were passed independently by the National Assembly and Senate, but Alvi rejected both on the grounds that he had not been told about the legislative proposal under Article 46 before it was tabled in parliament.
