The head of South Korea's parliament has proposed a US$255 million settlement to settle a feud over wartime labor compensation with Japan. Both South Korean and Japanese governments would contribute to fund, along with help from large corporations, to compensate 1,500 claimants for their forced labor during World War II. Some families have said they oppose the legislation.
