South Korean politicians are criticizing Wendy Sherman, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs for appearing to side with Japan in a historic dispute over Korean women forced to serve as sex slaves for Japanese troops in WW II. Sherman warned political leaders against using the historical disputes for political gains and "cheap applause." Japan says the women were willing prostitutes.
