#THENETHERLANDS: Dutch-made Microchips Found In Russian Weapons in Ukraine

Dutch-made microchips have been found in captured Russian weapons, sold to them by the Chinese for use in it's invasion of Ukraine, an investigation by a Dutch newspaper has found.

Millions of microchips made by Dutch companies reportedly ended in Russia since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, despite heavy sanctions on technological goods, an investigation by Dutch newspaper Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) showed.

Hundreds of deliveries have gone to three Russian companies linked to the defense industry, meaning that Dutch chips have also been used in Russian weapons.

#IRAN: Obama Tells Iranians In New Year's Message: Nuke Deal Will Benefit Them, Will Help Create Iranian Jobs

Addressing the Iranian people in a taped message marking the Persian New Year, US Pres. Barack Obama said the benefits of the Iranian nuclear deal are "undeniable" although it may still take time for people to begin enjoying them. He said the deal makes it possible for Iran to rejoin the global economy through increased trade and investment, creating jobs and opportunities for Iranians to sell their goods around the world.

#THENETHERLANDS: Parliament Calls On Gov't To Halt Saudi Arms Deal

The Dutch parliament called on the government to implement a European Union embargo on sending arms to Saudi Arabia as as result of their ongoing military action in Yemen. Around 6,000 have been killed since Saudi-led troops entered the conflict in Yemen last March, almost half of them civilians, says the UN.

#CANADA: For. Affairs Min. Dion Says Liberals Don't Approve Of Saudi Arms Sale, But Will Let It Go Through

Foreign Affairs Minister Stephane Dion says the Liberal government does not necessarily approve of Canada's sale of $15 billion worth of light armored vehicles to Saudi Arabia, a country with a dismal human rights record. Dion says the government is simply allowing a previously negotiated contract to stand.
