#KYRGYZSTAN: Parliament Suspends December Election

Kyrgyzstan's parliament has voted to suspend laws that would force fresh elections, after a parliamentary vote held earlier this month was annulled and had been tentatively rescheduled for December.

The Central Asian country has been embroiled in political crisis following the elections, which saw demonstrators free a populist politician who quickly became acting president.

#KYRGYZSTAN: Parliament Appoints New Prime Minister After Corruption Scandal

Kubatbek Boronov has been approved by parliament to become the 31st prime minister of Kyrgyzstan since it became independent. in 1991.

Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, the former prime minister, announced his resignation after he was accused of being corrupt in selling ratio frequencies. He was appointed prime minister in April, 2018.

#KYRGYZSTAN: Pro-Russian Parties Dominate Democratic Parliamentary Election"

The Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan linked to pro-Moscow President Almazbek Atambayev, topped the voting at Sunday's parliamentary election in the ex-Soviet state, with five other pro-Russian parties also winning seats. The party won close to 27%, while the second-place Respublika-Ata-Jurt Party received over 20%.
