Austria's Chancellor Christian Kern has called on the European Union to end membership talks with Turkey in the wake of a massive government crackdown following a failed coup. Turkey's longstanding, and recently revived, bid to join the EU has already been hit by Pres. Recep Tayyip Erdogan's suggestion that he may reintroduce the death penalty, which would instantly disqualify the nation from joining the bloc.

#BOSNIA: Serb, Bosnian Parties Put Aside Differences, Clear Way For EU Membership Deal, IMF Loans

Bosnia’s rival leaders have agreed on the key conditions set by the European Union for accepting the country’s membership application and cleared the way for winning a much needed IMF loan deal, which was delayed three weeks ago due to differences between Serb and Bosnian leaders in this ethnically divided nation. They have now agreed to a single transportation and infrastructure policy for the nation, opening up the possibility of a 550 million Euro loan from the International Monetary Fund.
