The National People's Assembly, the lower house of parliament, has unanimously voted in favor of several constitutional amendments, amid a boycott of the opposition blocs.
The draft amendments, which will go to a referendum on November 1st, oblige the president to appoint a prime minister from the party that has the majority in parliament.
