Ukraine's newly elected president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a decree disbanding the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament and calling for new elections.
Zelensky, a TV actor who was overwhelmingly elected on an anti-establishment platform, said he used the "extremely low trust" in parliament by the public- 4% in polling - as the "main argument" for dissolving the body.
Under the document, the early parliamentary elections shall be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019
