#GERMANY: Kurds In Colonge, Hold Mass Protests Against Turkish Leader Erdogan

Several thousand Kurds marched in the western Germany city of Cologne this past weekend in support of pro-Kurdish politicians jailed in Turkey the previous day. The demonstrators - numbering 6,500 according to Cologne police and up to 15,000 according to the protest's organizers - carried flags and banners promoting the People's Democratic Party.

#FRANCE: Senate Approves Law Making Denial Of Armenian Genocide A Crime

In a move that is bound to create further tensions with Turkey's government, the French Senate has passed a bill making denial of the Armenian Genocide in the early 1900s a crime. It passed narrowly in a 156-146 vote. The House of Representatives passed the bill in June. Fines include imprisonment for up to a year or a fine amounting 45.000 euros for the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

#KOSOVO: 1000s Riot Against Gov't Deal Establishing Self-Gov't For Serbs Remaining After '99 War

Thousands of anti-government demonstrators took to the streets in Kosovo's capital this weekend, with police firing tear gas as some protesters threw Molotov cocktails and set fire to a building. Protesters oppose deals reached by the government with Serbia - the country from which Kosovo seceded in 2008, Protesters urged the government to resign over a deal to set up an association of Serb-run municipalities for Kosovo's Serb minority.
