Australia will stay open over Christmas and lockdowns will not be employed against the new Omicron strain of COVID-19, Prime Minister Scott Morrison told the press on Tuesday.
Speaking just before a National Cabinet meeting, Mr Morrison said he would urge state and territory leaders to keep borders open despite the emergence of the new variant.
