#CHINA: Gov't Limits Children To Three Hours Of Online Gaming Per Week

The Communist Chinese government has announced far-reaching restrictions on minors playing video games, a move that further exacerbates tensions between the powerful central government and its tech sector.

Under the new regulations unveiled by China’s National Press and Publication Administration Aug. 30, children under 18 will not be allowed to play video games from Monday through Thursday and only between 8pm and 9pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: A maximum of three hours a week. 

The policy only applies to online games and users will need to register using their real names and government identification.
