Australian Attorney General Christian Porter has revealed he is the minister that has been the subject of historical rape allegations.
Porter faced the media in Perth this week to address the accusations, while denying the allegations.
Allegations surfaced in reports last week that a front bench minister had raped a woman during the 1980s.
Porter fought back tears as he denied the allegation that he had raped the woman in January of 1988 when she was 16 years old.
“The things that are being claimed to have happened did not happen,” he told reporters in Perth.
Police said it did not have enough admissible evidence to proceed with an investigation it began in February last year.
The investigation was suspended in June after the woman took her own life.
