Peru will have a record of 22 presidential candidates for the April elections, among them Keiko Fujimori, the daughter of former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori, making her third attempt to win her father's old office, and also the ex-president Ollanta Humala, both of whom are in prison in the middle of a corruption investigation.
The National Elections Jury said all applicants were submitted electronically on the last day of registration the day before, due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus.
