A bill allowing same-sex couples to become foster parents has passed in Greece's parliament in a 161 to 103 vote. The vote put an end to a long and heated debate. The legislation grants the right to foster children to couples under civil partnership, but clearly states that they cannot adopt children. Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras attacked opposition parties for opposing the legislation, accusing them of stoking "anachronistic stereotypes and phobia syndromes."
