The new leader of Somalia's Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab rebels, Ahmad Umar (aka Abu Ubaidah) is thought to be a devout and ruthless hardliner who was one of the most trusted lieutenants of the group's late chief who survived a major purge last year, say reports.
