#EU: #Merkel Says Tough New EU Sanctions Against #Russia Were "Inevitable"

In a statement, Merkel called the tough new sanctions against Putin's Russia "inevitable," and said, "the illegal annexation of the Crimea and the continued destabilization of eastern Ukraine are not acceptable."
