Japan recently celebrated the 68th anniversary of the country's post-World War II constitution, which allows for only a defensive military force. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe hopes a 2017 referendum will amend it to redefine the country's security policy at a time of China's military build-up and aerial and maritime assertiveness.
