#BURKINAFASO: Confusion, But Quiet, After Wed. Coup By Former Military Commander

A coup occurred Wednesday as presidential guard soldiers stormed a cabinet meeting and seized interim President Michel Kafando and Prime Minister Isaac Zida. Gen. Gilbert Diendere, a long time ally of the deposed President Blaise Compaore, announced he would lead the National Council for Democracy, and run the nation.
