#KENYA: Constitutional Amendment To Keep Courts Out Of Parliamentary Decisions Passes

[world politics news]

The National Assembly has passed a bill barring courts from interfering with Parliament’s law-making process and decisions. The constitutional amendment now awaits approval by the Senate for it to be taken to President Uhuru Kenyatta for assent. In 2014, the High Court issued an injunction stopping the Senate from handling the impeachment of Embu Governor Martin Wambora. The Senate discharged Wambora but the court reinstated him.
