#CANADA: 19-Year-Old Wins Prog. Conservative Nomination In By-Election

Sam Oosterhoff, a 19-year-old Brock University political science student, has won the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party nomination to face his New Democrat and Liberal opponents in a Nov. 19 by-election.  He defeated a former Conservative MP and the current PC Party's president Rick Dykstra in the Niagara West-Glanbrook riding, the territory of former PC party leader Tim Hudak.
