#UK: House Of Commons Votes Down Gov't Plan To Loosen Sunday Trading Restrictions

The House of Commons has defeated the Government’s attempt to relax Sunday trading restrictions. MPs voted 317 to 286 to maintain the current rules, with 27 Conservative MPs defying the Government to vote against a proposal to give local authorities the power to extend Sunday trading hours.
