French far-left presidential candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon held simultaneous presidential campaign rallies Sunday in two cities that are nearly 500 km apart – appearing in the flesh in Lyon and as a three-dimensional ghost in suburban Paris. He accomplished this impossible feat using a hologram, a 21st century technology perhaps meant to demonstrate a "modern" image for the Communist-aligned candidate.
