Australia is on the brink of signing a breakthrough deal with the United States on asylum seekers after months of protracted negotiations. Under the deal the US will resettle detainees on Manus Island and Nauru found to be refugees . Australia and the US would sign an agreement to resolve the fate of almost 2,500 asylum seekers in detention centers on Manus Island and Nauru.
