Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi suggested General Leonardo Gallitelli a member of the Carabinieri (military police) could become prime minister if he wins an election in 2018, according to local media. Berlusconi, a four-time prime minister, is barred from public office because of a tax fraud conviction. He is said to be trying to overturn the ban but is seeking alternative candidates in case he is unsuccessful.
