A total of 12,123 candidates have registered to run to fill 290 parliamentary seats in late Feb. elections - an average of 42 per available seat. Candidates still must qualify, with a final list released on Feb. 17. An election to fill the 88-member "Assembly of Experts" will be held at the same time. 801 candidates are seeking those seats.
