The Diet has passed a military reform bill amid anger from opposition lawmakers. The bill expands the scope of Self-Defense Forces' missions overseas, which has been restricted since the end of World War II. Earlier, lawmakers mobbed committee chairman Yasukazu Hamada during a committee hearing seeking to halt the voting.
